Rep. Darrell Issa, who represents California’s 48th district in the U.S. Congress, has recently posted a series of statements on his social media account addressing topics ranging from past congressional actions to current legislative efforts.
On July 23, 2025, Issa commented on former Attorney General Eric Holder, stating: “Eric Holder was a terrible Attorney General who covered up for Obama and can’t be trusted to tell the truth. That’s why I led the bipartisan vote that held him in contempt of Congress.”
The following day, July 24, 2025, Issa addressed Democratic Party positions with another post: “Democrats need to do some soul-searching for their attacks on law enforcement and embracing of illegal immigration.”
Later on July 24, he announced a legislative initiative alongside Rep. Elise Stefanik: “Teaming up with @RepStefanik and reintroducing the Modern Firearm Safety Act. We will never stop fighting for our Second Amendment rights!”
Issa has served as the representative for California’s 48th District since 2021, succeeding Duncan D. Hunter. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio in 1953 and currently resides in San Diego at age 69. Issa holds a BA from Siena Heights University, earned in 1976.
