U.S. Representative Darrell Issa, who serves California’s 48th district, has recently made a series of statements on social media addressing issues ranging from national security to international relations and immigration reform.
On January 26, 2026, Issa expressed support for former President Donald Trump’s approach to law enforcement and homeland security. In his post, he stated: “This is much-needed leadership from @realDonaldTrump here. He’s taking charge and reaching out and keeping the focus where it should be: Enforcing the law, targeting criminals, and protecting America’s homeland.”
The following day, Issa addressed concerns regarding U.S.-Korea relations and American business interests abroad. On January 27, 2026, he posted: “Fair warning to our longtime ally Korea: Failure to live up to agreements and the targeting of American companies and the American citizens who make up their workforce – particularly Coupang – won’t be tolerated by this Congress or this President.”
Issa also commented on domestic policy debates over immigration. On January 28, 2026, he wrote: “Democrats need to rethink their immigration reform ideas if they give a free pass to criminal illegals.”
Darrell Issa has served in Congress since replacing Duncan D. Hunter in 2021 as representative for California’s 48th District. Born in Cleveland, Ohio in 1953 and currently residing in San Diego at age 69, Issa graduated with a BA from Siena Heights University in 1976.
