Representative Darrell Issa, who has served in the U.S. Congress representing California’s 48th District since 2021, recently posted a series of statements on social media addressing national and state political issues. Issa, 69, was born in Cleveland, Ohio in 1953 and currently resides in San Diego. He graduated from Siena Heights University in 1976 with a BA.
On July 10, 2025, Issa commented on immigration policy and recent executive actions by stating: “This is why America voted for @realDonaldTrump! Major move today Ending Taxpayer Subsidization of Open Borders”.
On July 12, 2025, he referenced California Governor Gavin Newsom’s leadership by posting: “If Gavin Newsom’s governorship was a boxing match, they’d stop it.”
Later that same day, Issa further criticized Governor Newsom with another statement: “Californians are realizing Gavin Newsom is really just a part-time local podcaster now.”
Issa replaced previous U.S. Congress member Duncan D. Hunter in 2021.
