Rep. Darrell Issa, a current member of the U.S. Congress representing California’s 48th district, has recently expressed his views on various issues through a series of tweets. Serving since 2021 after replacing Duncan D. Hunter, Issa has consistently been vocal about immigration and economic policies.
On July 2, 2025, Issa commented on Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass’s stance regarding ICE agents in the city. He stated: “Karen Bass wants ICE agents in Los Angeles to go home. We want illegals in America to go home.”
Later that day, Issa criticized a judicial decision he deemed unfavorable towards American citizens and favorable towards undocumented immigrants. He tweeted: “Another day, another extremist judge siding with criminal illegals and against the American people. This decision must not stand.”
On July 3, 2025, Issa praised the state of the economy under President Donald Trump and a Republican-controlled Congress by tweeting: “The economy continues to improve under @realDonaldTrump and a GOP Congress.”
Issa was born in Cleveland, Ohio in 1953 and currently resides in San Diego. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Siena Heights University.
