U.S. Representative Darrell Issa, who serves California’s 48th district, posted a series of critical remarks on his social media account on July 15 and 16, 2025.
On July 15, Issa commented on a recent judicial decision, stating: “Another day, another absurd rogue ruling by an activist judge from the Trump resistance in robes.” Later that day, he criticized NBC’s coverage of the Biden administration: “NBC with an absurd defense of historic wrongdoing by the Biden White House.”
The following day, Issa addressed California Governor Gavin Newsom—whom he referred to as “Governor Podcast”—with the statement: “I wonder if Governor Podcast has any time to rebuild the parts of California that his policies helped burn down.”
Issa has represented California’s 48th district in Congress since 2021, succeeding Duncan D. Hunter. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio in 1953 and currently resides in San Diego. Issa holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Siena Heights University.
