Congressman Darrell Issa has announced his support for the 2025 Summer Reading Challenge initiated by Second Lady Usha Vance. The program encourages students in grades K-8 to read 12 books between June 1 and September 5.

“Reading a book opens a window into discovery, learning and imagination,” said Congressman Issa. “I am proud to support Second Lady Vance’s Summer Reading Challenge and hope that all students in southern California can join this meaningful and exciting program by reading this summer.”

The challenge invites participation from children across the region, with further details available at www.whitehouse.gov/read. Students who complete the challenge can submit their registration to both the Second Lady’s office and Congressman Issa’s office for recognition of their achievement.
