Rep. Darrell Issa, U.S. Congressman representing California’s 48th district since 2021, shared a series of statements on social media regarding national political issues and recent election results.
On November 4, 2025, Issa posted criticism of former FBI Director James Comey, stating: “Every day we learn even more ways James Comey lied to the country and the Congress.”
Later that same day, he commented on the ongoing government shutdown and party responsibility by writing: “Nobody is buying that Democrats aren’t in charge of this government shutdown.”
Following the release of election results in California on November 5, Issa issued a statement reflecting on the outcome and its impact on his constituents: “My statement tonight:
California is my home. And it’s worth fighting for.
I know how many of my friends and constituents feel about tonight’s election results and the unprecedented purely partisan campaign that pitted neighbor against neighbor and divided the state as never”
Issa has represented California’s 48th District since replacing Duncan D. Hunter in 2021. Born in Cleveland, Ohio in 1953, he now resides in San Diego. He earned his BA from Siena Heights University in 1976.
