U.S. Representative Darrell Issa, who serves California’s 48th district, posted a series of tweets in early February 2026 highlighting the recognition of Royce Williams, a centenarian and Korean War veteran, as well as other commentary.
On February 3, 2026, Issa wrote: “Some rare common sense.”
The following day, on February 4, he announced significant news regarding Royce Williams: “BREAKING NEWS: @realDonaldTrump has just informed my friend, constituent, and 100 year-old hero Royce Williams that he will be receiving the Congressional Medal of Honor. I call Royce ‘The Secret Soldier of the Forgotten War’ — and his exploits as a jet pilot taking on Soviet”.
Later that same day, Issa encouraged followers to learn more about Williams’ actions during the Korean War: “Please read this great writing about the great Royce Williams – and what he did alone, overmatched, and in defense of his shipmates and our country over the Sea of Japan.”
Darrell Issa has represented California’s 48th district in Congress since 2021 after succeeding Duncan D. Hunter. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio in 1953 and currently resides in San Diego. Issa earned his BA from Siena Heights University in 1976.
