U.S. Representative Darrell Issa, who represents California’s 48th district in Congress, posted a series of tweets in early January 2026 expressing support for former President Donald Trump’s foreign policy and praising the U.S. military’s recent actions.

On January 3, Issa called for unity behind Trump’s approach to international affairs, writing: “Let’s unite to support President Trump’s strong foreign policy and America’s regional and national interests.”

Later that day, Issa commended the U.S. armed forces for their performance and referenced recent military operations under Trump: “Our elite military have again performed brilliantly with total effectiveness, and minimum loss of life. They are the best-trained, best-equipped, and bravest in the world.

Once again, @realDonaldTrump has taken strong action to protect America’s homeland from neighboring threats” (January 3).

Two days later on January 5, Issa issued another brief statement referencing an unspecified position or comment: “He’s right.”

Darrell Issa has served as a member of Congress representing California’s 48th District since 2021 after replacing Duncan D. Hunter. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio in 1953 and currently resides in San Diego at age 69. Issa graduated from Siena Heights University with a BA degree in 1976.
